UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PRELIMINARY DRAW (2011/12)

On the 5 August 2011 the UEFA Champions League preliminary draw featured two previous winners of the competition with Bayern Munich facing FC Zurich and the FC Benifca challenging FC Twente, the Eerste Divisie runners- up.


Bayern Munich have been crowned champions of Europe on four seperate occasions. Their coach, Jupp Heynokes said: "This is a game we can win and an interesting task. We have a great opportunity to move into the group stage".


The first legs will be held on the 16-17 August 2011. And the second legs to be played on the 23-24 August 2011.


The Play Off Draw Fixtures (16-17 August 2011):

Arsenal (ENG) vs Udinese (ITA)
Bayern Munich (GER) vs FC Zurich (SUI)
Lyon (FRA) vs Ruben Kazan (RUS)


The 10 play-off winning teams will then join the 22 automatically qualified clubs for the group stage draw which will be held in Monaco on the 25 August 2011.


To conclude, the UEFA Champions League Final 2011/12 season will be held on on the 19 May 2012 and the host  venue will be Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena stadium.
